EAU CLAIRE — Health care
providers and others interested in expanding their knowledge of Hmong health
practices and beliefs can attend the conference “Transcultural Health Care:
The Hmong Perspective” from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, at the
Regency Suites Hotel & KI Convention Center in Green Bay.
The workshop, sponsored by the University of
Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education/UW-Extension, will give an overview of
a variety of topics including Hmong beliefs regarding health care, illness and
death.
The workshop will be presented by Dr. Bee Lo from the La
Crosse Natural Health Center. Dr. Lo is a naturopathic physician who has studied
both Eastern and Western forms of medicine.
Cost is $149, which includes instruction, materials,
refreshments and lunch. The registration deadline is Aug. 2.
Participants will receive six hours of continuing
education units for full participation in this workshop from UW-Eau Claire and
6.6. contact hours from the UW-Eau Claire School of Nursing.
