EAU CLAIRE The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's
University Recreation will be hosting its sixth annual Spring Rec Fest May 4-5.
UW-Eau Claire faculty, staff, students and their families
are invited to participate in this annual event.
Rec Fest will begin with the Early Birdie Golf Classic at
Princeton Valley Golf Course at noon Friday, May 4. Teams of four will play nine
holes of golf each, with various tee times between 11:00 a.m. and 3 p.m.
This event will cost $20, which includes green's fees,
lunch and a t-shirt. Prizes will be awarded at each hole and for the overall
tournament.
The Quadmire Mountain Bike Race will be held at Lowes
Creek County Park Saturday, May 5. There will be three divisions, including
men's and women's competitive divisions and a fun division open to anyone.
Heats will take place at 11 a.m., noon, 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.
"We're hoping to have 50 to 80 participants in the
race," said Al Wiberg, student service program manager with University
Recreation.
Following the race there will be a dinner and awards
ceremony at Pine Meadow Sports Bar & Grill, Eau Claire. Local bike companies
will donate awards, including bike helmets and tune-ups.
Cost for the race is $15, which includes a t-shirt and
the dinner.
Register for Rec Fest April 16-May 3 at the Hilltop
Recreation office, Hilltop 106.
