EAU CLAIRE The
University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Women's Chorus and University Band will
perform a joint concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 30, in Gantner Concert Hall
of the Haas Fine Arts Center.
Dr. Randal Dickerson, assistant professor of music and
theatre arts, will direct the Women's Chorus and University Band. Sophomore
Benjamin Dotte, Eau Claire, will be the accompanist for the concert.
The chorus will begin with Rene Clausen's "Psalm
100," conducted by senior Colleen Donnelly, Brooklyn Park, Minn. Other
selections will include "My Gracious Lord and Master" by Franz Schubert, "My True Love Has My Heart" by Eugene Butler, also conducted by Donnelly,
and "Alleluia" by Randall Thompson.
The performance will end with "America" and
"Tonight," two selections from "West Side Story" by Leonard Bernstein
and Stephen Sondheim.
The University Band will perform five selections in the
second half of the concert. The band will open with "A Jubilant Overture" by
Alfred Reed. Other selections will include "On a Hymnsong of Philip Bliss"
by David R. Holsinger and "Satiric Dances for a Comedy by Aristophanes" by
Norman Dello Joio.
Tickets, available at the University Service Center,
(715) 836-3727, are $4.75 for adults; $3.75 for those age 62 and older, children
17 and younger, faculty or staff with a university ID; or $1.25 for students
with a university ID.
