EAU CLAIRE The annual Honoring Education Pow Wow will be held
Saturday, April 28, in Zorn Arena at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
UW-Eau Claire and the Native American Student Association
invite the public to share a day of Indian dancing and singing.
Two Grand Entries will be held at 1 and 7 p.m. Tickets,
available at the door, are $3.
Gordon Thunder, Ho-Chunk, will be the master of
ceremonies and Dale Littlejohn, Ho-Chunk, will be the arena director.
Drummers include the Star Nation Singers, Stockbridge-Munsee;
the Junior Dead Grass Society Drum, Menominee; the Waaswaagoning Drum, Lac du
Flambeau; the Lake Shore Singers, St. Croix; and the Badger Singers, Lac Courte
Oreilles.
The National Eagle Center in Wabasha, Minn., will
facilitate a bald eagle presentation.
Event sponsors include the American Ethnic Coordinating
Office, American Indian studies program, Native American Student Association,
Housing and Residence Life, Office of Academic Affairs, GEAR UP Program, School
of Nursing, Bahai Faith Community, and UW-Eau Claire Continuing Education, Arts
and Sciences.
