EAU CLAIRE
Boston-based recording artist Les Sampou will perform three free concerts at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire April 26-28.
The singer-songwriter will begin her shows at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday in The Cabin, Davies Center.
Les Sampou is a triple threat an accomplished guitarist; a songwriter who whittles and smoothes every line by hand; and a chanteuse with a voice
capable of ripping off rafter-raising blues tunes and then turning even grand concert halls into house concerts with her intimate balladry" (Boston Globe). Her new self-titled release on Flying Fish/Rounder Records is a departure from her folk-blues roots, moving more mainstream, alternating folk-rock and modern-rock arrangements.
The shows are open to all ages. Proof of age is required for alcohol purchase.
The Cabin program is sponsored by the University Activities Commission of the UW-Eau Claire Student Senate. -30- JS/BW
