EAU CLAIRE
The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education, Nursing will offer a program titled
"Geriatric Pharmacology for Nurses" from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday, May 4, at the Park Inn & Suites, Eau Claire.
The program will assist nurses working with the elderly to understand the way aging changes influence the elderly persons response to medications. Topics will include drug actions in the elderly, factors influencing drug actions, the monitoring for therapeutic effects and adverse drug reactions, and interventions to promote safe, effective drug use in the elderly.
Dr. Todd A. Johnson, assistant professor with the College of Pharmacy, University of Minnesota, will present the program.
Cost for the program is $95, which includes instructional materials, refreshments and lunch. Participants may earn six continuing education contact hours.
Registration deadline is April 19.
