The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education, Nursing and Continuing Education, Human Sciences and Services will offer a program titled Dementia Care Update: Medical, Behavioral and Environmental Approaches from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday, April 6, at Park Inn & Suites, Eau Claire.
The program will provide participants with the latest improvements in the care and treatment of persons with dementia, focusing on providing a humanistic environment. Clinical assessments and research-based interventions tailored to improving the quality of life for patients also will be addressed. The program is ideal for nurses, social workers and other health care professionals working with the elderly.
Dr. Lois B. Taft, associate professor of nursing systems and clinical specialist in gerontological nursing, will present the program.
Cost for the program is $85, which includes instructional materials, refreshments and lunch. Participants may earn six continuing education contact hours or 0.5 continuing education units from UW-Eau Claire.
Registration deadline is March 22.
