EAU CLAIRE
The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education, Nursing will present Thriving with Diabetes: Vital Nursing Information for Everyday Clinical Practice from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, April 5, at the Holiday Inn Campus Area, Eau Claire.
The program will address the latest clinical advances in the nursing and dietary management of diabetes. The conference also will highlight the team approach to diabetes management, options for improving glucose control (including insulin therapy pumps) and the prevention, detection and treatment of acute and chronic complications of diabetes.
Lori Binder, supervisor of Endocrine Diabetes Clinic, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn.; Shelly Doran, diabetes educator, Mayo Clinic; and Virginia Jordan, registered dietician, Luther Midelfort, Eau Claire, will present the program.
The program costs $90, which includes instructional materials, refreshments and lunch. Participants may earn six continuing education contact hours. The program organizer also has applied for Department of Public Instruction clock hours and continuing professional education hours for dietitians.
The registration deadline is March 21.
