The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire American Choral Directors Association student chapter will sponsor a choral concert at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 4, in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.
The Singing Statesmen and Concert Choir, both conducted by Dr. Gary Schwartzhoff, Womens Concert Chorale, conducted by Stephen Rosolack, and the Chippewa Valley Girl Choir, conducted by community members Traci Ohlmann and Cathy Reitz, will perform a variety of works, including Frank Tichelis There Will Be Rest, Jacob Handls Ascendit Deus and Stephen Foster and Mark Kellers Hard Times Come Again No More.
Tickets, available at the University Service Center, (715) 836-3727, are $4.75 for adults; $3.75 for those age 62 and older, children 17 and younger, and faculty or staff with a university ID; or $1.25 for students with a university ID.
The UW-Eau Claire student chapter of the ACDA was founded in 1991 and has a membership of 20 students. The ACDA supports numerous choral activities in the music and theatre arts department and holds monthly meetings with guest speakers in the field of choral music education.
