Marching Towards Wellness, the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claires 12th annual wellness fair, is dedicated to helping UW-Eau Claire faculty, staff and students attain and maintain health and wellness.
The fair will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, March 1, in the Tamarack Room and Skylight Lounge of Davies Center.
Exhibitors including Luther Midelfort, Marshfield Clinic, Sacred Heart Hospital, Planned Parenthood and the American Cancer Society will showcase the array of resources available in the Eau Claire area. There also will be a yoga demonstration at 2 p.m., and Two to Tango will offer free dance lessons.
The wellness fair is devoted to the social, emotional, physical, intellectual and spiritual dimensions of wellness, said Sarah Harvieux, coordinator of the wellness fair and health educator with Student Health Service.
Harvieux added that this years fair incorporates Peer Counselors Nurturing Day and celebrates University Recreations involvement with National Recreational Sports and Fitness Day.
For the first time, a Try it Out circuit class will be offered as part of the fair. The class, which is appropriate for all fitness and experience levels, will include hi/low and step aerobics, as well as strength training. The class will meet from 12 to 12:45 p.m. in Zorn Arena.
Local businesses will donate door prizes, including a mountain bike from Scheels All Sports.
