EAU CLAIRE
The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Alumni Symphony Orchestra will perform for the first time at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, in Delong Middle Schools auditorium.
Foster Beyers, a 1999 UW-Eau Claire music graduate and a current teacher for Green Bay Area Public School District, will conduct the orchestra made up of 28 alumni musicians and current UW-Eau Claire students.
The concert will feature selections from various musicians including Franz Schuberts Unfinished Symphony and Peter Ilyitch Tchaikovskys overture-fantasy Romeo and Juliet.
Nobuyoshi Yasuda, assistant professor of music and theatre arts currently on a leave of absence, will perform a violin solo from the opera Thais by Jules Massenet.
The concert is free and open to the public; however, donations will be accepted to cover the cost of the facility rental. Any donations collected over that amount will be donated to the American String Teachers Association of Eau Claire. -30- SL/BW
