Youth Symphony
To Perform Dec. 16

          EAU CLAIRE — The Chippewa Valley Youth Symphony will perform its winter concert at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.
          For the 20th year, Ivar Lunde Jr., University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire professor of music and theatre arts, will direct the concert of traditional orchestral music. The following UW-Eau Claire students will assist in the concert: seniors Heidi Hilgenberg, Shawano, violin; Dan Aalto, Eau Claire, violin; Robyn Smail, Sun Prairie, viola; Valerie Barton, Stoughton, horn; and Paula Meier, Prescott, trumpet; juniors Loni Schiel, New Berlin, violoncello; and Timothy Doleysh, Appleton, percussion; and freshman Collin Hobbs, Eau Claire, viola.
          The symphony is made up of 58 students in grades 7-12.
          The concert is free and open to the public. A reception will follow the concert. UW-Eau Claire Continuing Education is cosponsoring the event.
