Internship Mania Seeks
Employer Participants
MAILED: Dec. 7, 2000

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will offer employers an opportunity to recruit student interns during Internship Mania. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, in Davies Center.
For the third consecutive year, Academic and Career Services and various student organizations will sponsor the event that includes employer booths highlighting internship opportunities. Last year approximately 700 students and 70 employers attended the event.
Internship Mania allows local employers to gain a competitive edge in recruiting interns and future permanent employees, to promote their businesses to UW-Eau Claire students and faculty and to develop a working relationship with the university community.
“Internship Mania is a wonderful opportunity for Chippewa Valley businesses to access the talent available at UW-Eau Claire,” Mike Schatz, city of Eau Claire economic development administrator, said. “There is substantial competition for these students from out-of-the-area companies, so I urge local businesses to attend.”
Employers interested in purchasing booth space should contact Derek Solheim, career counselor, at (715) 836-3956 or (800) 939-8973 by Jan. 8.
Registration also can be done online at the Internship Mania Web site, http://imania.uwec.edu. Online registration will allow employers to receive immediate confirmation via e-mail and the ability to update their registration online prior to the event.
Early registration is suggested, as space is limited. Registration for the event costs $70, which includes one six-foot table, coffee, rolls and lunch.
Employers interested in attending but who do not have the funding for such an event may apply for an employer scholarship. Contact Solheim for more information.
