EAU CLAIRE
The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claires Jazz Ensemble I will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.
The ensemble, under the direction of associate professor of music and theatre arts Robert Baca, will perform 12 selections.
The first half of the concert comprises five works, beginning with Oleo by Sonny Rollins. Additional works include Wayne Shorters Infant Eyes, which was arranged by Kyle Newmaster, and Cottontail by Duke Ellington.
The ensemble will start the second portion of the concert with London Bridge arranged by Sammy Nestico. Six additional works will round out the program. Among these works are Wrappin It Up by Fletcher Henderson, Jovian Comets by Mark Busselli, and That One and Only Love by Andrew Neesley, a junior from Glendale. Neesley also will be featured as a soloist for this work.
Tickets, available at the University Service Center, (715) 836-3727, are $4.75 for adults; $3.75 for those age 62 and older, children 17 and younger, and faculty or staff with a university ID; or $1.25 for students with a university ID. -30- LK/BW
