EAU CLAIRE
The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire department of communication and journalism will sponsor an intercultural lecture from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, in Davies Theatre.
Pam Pappas Stanoch, the founder and president of Window on the World, will deliver a presentation titled Communicating Across Cultures.
Window on the World is a cross-cultural training firm headquartered in Minneapolis, which specializes in highly customized cross-cultural training and consulting for multinational corporations throughout the United States and other nations. The goal of Window on the World is to help companies and individuals maximize their performance in the global marketplace by becoming skilled at communicating effectively with international business associates.
Stanoch will speak about several aspects of cross-cultural training. The topics will include awareness training, how cultural values and communication styles affect the workplace, problem solving and strategic planning for international management, and strategies for professionals to better lead multicultural teams.
Stanochs presentation is open to UW-Eau Claire students and faculty as well as the general public. Refreshments will be served following the presentation.
