EAU CLAIRE
The University of Wisconsin Eau Claires Womens Concert Chorale will perform in concert at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.
The chorale, under the direction of Stephen Rosolack, will open with Come Let us Start a Joyful Song by Hans Leo Hassler. The first half of the program will continue with works including Pater Noster by Francois Gevaert, The Echoing Green by William Mathais and four songs by Johannes Brahms, which also will feature community members Andrew Park and Deb Ruckwardt on French horn.
After a brief intermission, the second portion of the concert will start with a prelude of Sergei Rachmaninoff played by chorale pianist Ondra Williams, a senior from Clinton.
Next, in honor of his 100th birthday this year, the chorale will include a segment of Aaron Coplands works, including At the River, I Bought Me a Cat, Younger Generation and An Immorality.
The concert will conclude with Rock-a-Bye Baby, a vocal jazz arrangement by Michele Weir, and Twas the Night Before Christmas by Ken Darby, arranged by Harry Simeone.
Tickets, available at the University Service Center, (715) 836-3727, are $4.75 for adults; $3.75 for those age 62 and older, children 17 and younger, and faculty or staff with a university ID; or $1.25 for students with a university ID. -30- LK/BW
