Musical Events for the
Week of Nov. 20

          EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire music and theatre arts department will present the following musical performances the week beginning Monday, Nov. 20. All events are free and open to the public.

MONDAY, Nov. 20:

  • Angela Nies, a junior from De Pere, and Kristen Novak, a senior from Manitowoc, will give a joint clarinet recital at 5 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. Sophomores Andrei Strizek, Sun Prairie, and Maria Blume, Marathon, will assist on the piano, and senior Toby Yatso, Ashwaubenon, will assist on the bassoon. Among the selections to be played are “Four Church Sonatas” and Divertimento No. 3 by W.A. Mozart and “Four Characteristic Pieces” by William Y. Hurlstone.
TUESDAY, Nov. 21:
  • The Wisconsin Woodwind Quintet will perform at 7:30 p.m. in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. The quintet consists of Dr. Tim Lane, associate professor of music and theatre arts, flute; Ivar Lunde Jr., professor of music and theatre arts, oboe; Dr. Kristine Fletcher, senior lecturer of music and theatre arts, bassoon; Dr. Richard Fletcher, professor of music and theatre arts, clarinet; and Andrew Parks, associate lecturer of music and theatre arts, horn. The group will perform four selections, including “March“ by John R. Barrows and Quintet for Winds by John Harbison.
