EAU CLAIRE
The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Veterans Club will host its seventh annual Veterans Day Program at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, in the Menominee and Oneida rooms of Davies Center.
This year's theme is "Minorities in the Military." The public is welcome to attend.
Jesse Dixon, student services coordinator, will be one of the night's guest speakers. Dixon has more than 20 years of service in the military and will speak on his experiences as a minority in the military. Rick Gates, county Veteran Services officer with Polk County, also will speak about his worldwide experiences while on active duty.
Seniors Shanin Buhr and Meredith Sipe, UW-Eau Claire music majors, will sing the national anthem. Chaplain Bruce Fredrickson, Luther Midelfort, will lead the group in a moment of silence.
