EAU CLAIRE The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire music and theatre arts department will present the following musical performances the week beginning Monday, Oct. 30. All events are free and open to the public.
TUESDAY, Oct. 31:
WEDNESDAY, Nov. 1:
- As part of the OcTUBAfest 2000 celebration, Micky Wrobleski and Kuang-Hao Huang will give a guest recital at 7:30 p.m. in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. Wrobleski will play the tuba and Huang will play the piano for eight selections, including Krzysztof Penderecki's "Capriccio for Solo Tuba," Ralph Vaughan Williams' "Suite de Ballet," and "Blue Bells of Scotland" by Arthur Pryor, arranged by Dr. Barney Childs. The last selection will be Raymond Luedeke's "Wonderland Duets," which was inspired by and will be accompanied by Lewis Carroll poetry. For this selection Dr. Jerry Young, professor of music and theatre arts, will assist on the tuba, and Adam Bever, 1997 UW-Eau Claire graduate, will narrate.
- Junior Katie Lanzer, Chetek, will give a piano recital at 5 p.m. in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. Lanzer will perform four pieces, including works by J.S. Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven, Johannes Brahms and Claude Debussy.
