The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Educational Opportunity Center and UW Marshfield/Wood County will offer two free New Vistas programs for area adults investigating career change.
In the first New Vistas session, "Options Out There," participants will learn about their own distinctive thinking styles using the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and how thinking styles relate to work and career choices. Participants also will learn about the economy of Central Wisconsin and begin to plan how their skills, interests and aspirations might fit into the bigger picture of employment opportunities. The session is scheduled for 5:30-7:30 pm. Thursday, Oct. 12.
The second New Vistas session, "Decisions, Decisions," will help participants investigate training programs in Central Wisconsin and make choices that are right for a particular job or career. Participants will learn how to tap financial aid and other resources for higher education. The session will be Thursday, Oct. 19, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Both New Vistas sessions are free and open to the public and will be held at UW Marshfield/Wood County, Room 166 ALSB. For more information or to register, call (715) 389-6540 or (715) 836-2024.
