EAU CLAIRE
Chancellor Donald Mash announced today (Sept. 25) that Dr. Jack Fistler will no longer serve as president of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Foundation, effective Sept. 23.
Mash has named his special assistant Carole Halberg to serve as interim president of the Foundation.
In addition to her responsibilities as the chancellor's special assistant, Halberg, who served as interim president of the Foundation on two previous occasions, will work closely with Mash to provide ongoing leadership for the Foundation and the Alumni Association.
"During this interim period Carole and I will work as a team to provide leadership for the upcoming fund-raising campaign and our development and alumni staff and volunteers," said Mash.
Fistler was named president of the Foundation in March 1999. As the university's chief development officer he was responsible for all aspects of fund raising as well as the Office of Alumni Relations. He came to UW-Eau Claire from Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio.
Mash said he will announce plans for permanent leadership of the Foundation at a later date. -30- JW
