The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education, Nursing will present a program for nurses titled "Herbs in Health Care," which will run from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, at the Holiday Inn Campus Area, Eau Claire.
The program will provide an update on the use of herbs in health care, an overview of the herbal market including quality, safety and legal issues and an in-depth review of individual herbs and their medicinal uses including side effects, contraindications, drug interactions, dosages and pharmacology.
The presenter of the program is David La Luzerne, a registered pharmacist and owner of the Green Earth natural medicine stores in Madison. La Luzerne has studied and used herbs for more than 20 years.
The program costs $95, which includes instructional materials, lunch and refreshments. Participants may earn six continuing education contact hours.
