The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire art department will take its annual trip to Chicago Oct. 6-8.
Landscapes by the American impressionist artist William Merritt Chase will be featured at the Art Institute of Chicago, one of the premier art museums in the world. The "Sol LeWitt: A Retrospective" exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art, as well as the museum's permanent collection, also will be included.
Free time for sightseeing, shopping and touring other museums will be available as this is not a guided trip.
Art department chair Steve Katrosits and Greta Murphy, assistant professor, will lead the trip, which is open to university students, faculty and staff, as well as community members.
The cost of the trip is $100 per person for four people to a hotel room or $130 per person for two to a room. The fee includes round-trip motor coach transportation, lodging and group entry to the MCA. Tickets are available at the University Service Center in Davies Center. The deadline to sign up is Sept. 27.
An informational meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 12, at 7:30 p.m. in Room 105 of Haas Fine Arts Center.
