EAU CLAIRE
After a hiatus for the Independence Day holiday, Summer Session Programs at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will resume with a Jazz at Noon concert on Wednesday, July 5.
A UW-Eau Claire jazz combo under the direction of Jason Craft will provide lunchtime entertainment from noon to 1 p.m. on the Central Campus Mall (rain: The Cabin, Davies Center). Refreshments will be sold.
The classic mystery film series continues with the Sherlock Holmes movie "Dressed to Kill" (1946), screening at noon and 7 p.m. Thursday in Davies Theatre. In the last film of the Basil Rathbone-Nigel Bruce series, one of Dr. Watson's old school chums asks Holmes to look into a petty theft that the police find of little interest. The consulting detective is put on the trail of a ruthless female antagonist (Patricia Morison) and three commonplace music boxes that she is willing to kill for. Roy William Neill directed the 72-minute film.
Summer Session Programs continue through Aug. 10. A complete schedule is available from the Activities and Programs Office, Davies Center 133, (715) 836-4833. -30- JS/LWG
