Chippewa Valley Youth Symphony
To Perform May 20

EAU CLAIRE
The Chippewa Valley Youth Symphony will perform a spring concert at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 20, in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.
The 60-member symphony, which is made up of youth from Eau Claire, Altoona, Chippewa Falls and Menomonie, will perform under Ivar Lunde, Jr., music director and conductor. University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire senior Daniel Aalto, Eau Claire, will serve as a guest conductor.
The program will feature six pieces, starting with Overture to "Cosi Fan Tutte" by Mozart, arranged by Julius S. Seredy. Merle J. Isaac's "Cavalier Overture" will follow, along with "Comedians' Gallop" from "The Comedians" by Dimitri Kabalevsky, arranged by Rosario Bourdon.
The last three works include selections from "Star Wars: The Phantom Menace," Max Bruch's Kol Nidrei, Op. 47, and "Andalucia's Suite" by Ernesto Lecuona, arranged by Gordon Jenkins.
The event is sponsored by the Chippewa Valley Youth Symphony and the UW-Eau Claire College of Arts and Sciences Continuing Education/UW-Extension. It is free and open to the public. -30- LK/BW
