EAU CLAIRE
The Honoring Education Traditional Pow Wow will be held April 29 in Zorn Arena at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
UW-Eau Claire and the American Indian Student Association invite the public to come share a day of Indian dancing and singing.
Two Grand Entries will be held at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. and a feast will begin at 5 p.m.
Tickets, available at the door, are $3. The event is free for those 60 and older.
Artley Skenandore, Oneida, will be the master of ceremonies and Dale Littlejohn, Ho-Chunk, will be the arena director.
The host drum will be Badger Singers, Lac Courte Oreilles Anishinaabe. Invited drums are Lake Delton, Ho-Chunk; Pipestone, Lac Courte Oreilles Anishinaabe; and Lakeshore Singers, St. Croix Anishinaabe.
Event sponsors include the American Indian Student Association, American Ethnic Coordinating Office, Title IX, American Indian Studies Program, University Activities Commission, UW-Eau Claire Foundation, Arts and Sciences Continuing Education, Bahai Faith Community and UW-Eau Claire School of Nursing.
