EAU CLAIRE
A University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire journalism student placed among the top 20 students in the radio competition in the national Hearst Journalism Awards Program.
Junior Adrianne Boland, Green Bay, tied for 18th place in the radio broadcast competition. Her radio story reported coverage of the World Trade Organization protest in Seattle, Wash., where several people from the Chippewa Valley traveled to protest. Boland interviewed many of the Chippewa Valley protesters before and after the trip. She also did basic coverage of the event.
"It was quite an honor to have my adviser, Henry Lippold, and the journalism department submit me for this award," Boland said.
Boland received an award certificate, and her name will be published in a yearbook that is sent to news organizations across the country. -30- JLW/BW
