Camp Nursing Program

EAU CLAIRE
The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education in Nursing/UW-Extension will hold a program on camp nursing from noon Friday, May 5, until 4:30 p.m. Saturday, May 6, at the Wisconsin Lions Camp in Rosholt.
"The Nurse at Camp: Bats, Bugs and Band-Aids" will cover topics such as routine camp nursing tasks, dispelling the myths surrounding homesickness, risk management and control of communicable diseases, and an introduction to camp as a community that values health. The program will include a four-hour first aid skill component.
Linda Ebner Erceg will present the program. Erceg is the health and safety coordinator for Concordia Language Villages in Bemidji, Minn., and the executive director of the Association of Camp Nurses.
The cost for the two-day event is $150, which includes four meals, refreshments and instructional materials. Overnight lodging is available for $11.75 a night; attendees should make their own lodging arrangements with the Lions Camp. Participants may earn 15.9 continuing education contact hours.
