EAU CLAIRE
A live teleconference will explore the development of children and adolescents and how grief and loss impact them.
"Living with Grief: Children, Adolescents and Loss" will be held from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, at the Eau Claire, Chippewa and Dunn UW-Extension offices.
The program, moderated by ABC News correspondent Cokie Roberts, will feature a panel of six educators, counselors and nurses from around the country. They will examine intervention strategies to assist children and adolescents experiencing grief and loss. Traumatic and violent loss also will be explored.
The registration fee is $15 or $12 per person when three or more individuals from the same agency attend. Participants, who must register by the April 21 deadline, will receive 0.3 continuing education units.
Hospice Foundation of America is the national sponsor for this program, while the local sponsors are the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Human Sciences and Services Outreach, UW-Eau Claire Nursing Outreach, Eau Claire County UW-Extension, Chippewa County UW-Extension, Dunn County UW-Extension, Family Resource Center of Eau Claire County Inc., Family Resource Center of Dunn County, and River Source Family Center.
