Scholarship Concert

EAU CLAIRE
The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire music and theatre arts department will feature scholarship recipients in "An Afternoon of Music and Theatre."
The program will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 9, in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.
Seniors Matthew Pivec, Minnetonka, Minn., and Kevin Bartig, Wausau, will play the soprano saxophone and piano, respectively, to Georg Philipp Telemann's Sonate. Junior Aimee Paar, Verona, will perform on the violin and senior Sara Paar, Verona, will play the piano to Edvard Grieg's Sonate No. 3 in C minor, Op. 45.
Junior Lisa Butcher, a soprano from Woodbury, Minn., will sing "Sul fil d'un soffio etesio" from Verdi's "Falstaff," and senior Brenda Greenwald, Sheboygan, will accompany her on piano. Freshman Maria Blume, Marathon, will play the piano to "Asturias" by Isaac Albeniz. Katie Lanzer, a junior from Chetek, will perform Johannes Brahms' Intermezzo, Op. 118, No. 6, on piano. Junior Ben Covi, Neenah, will play a piece on the tenor trombone.
Jessica Else, a junior from Rochester, Minn., will perform a dance to "Because You Loved Me" by Celine Dion. Senior Tracy Phelps, Coon Rapids, Minn., will give a monologue from the play "Six Degrees of Separation" by John Guare. Senior Katherine Grosskopf, Fall Creek, and sophomore Matthew Rightmire, Medford, will perform a scene from "In Passing," which was written by Grosskopf during her playwriting class.
