Students to Perform
In Musical 'Pippin'

The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's University Theatre will perform the musical comedy "Pippin."
The play opens at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, in Kjer Theatre. Additional performances are slated for 7:30 p.m. Feb. 25-26 and March 2-4, and a matinee performance will take place at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 27.
Richard Nimke, assistant professor of music and theatre arts, directs the musical, which is choregraphed by Dr. Toni Poll-Sorenson, professor of kinesiology and athletics
Sophomore Erin Conery, Beloit, is the Leading Player. Barry Anderson, a senior from Osseo, plays Pippin.
Jeff Madison, a senior from Woodbury, Minn., plays the role of Charles, Pippin's father. Junior Rolf Bruhn, Waukesha, was cast as Lewis, Pippin's half-brother.
Senior Sara Paar, Verona, plays Lewis' mother, Fastrada. Koral Rose Curkeet, a senior from Eau Claire, is Berthe, Pippin's grandmother. Senior Tracy Phelps, Coon Rapids, Minn., was cast as Catherine, a widow.
The company members include the following: freshman Kale William Nelson, Frederic; sophomore Matt Rightmire, Medford; senior Jacob Schrandt, Winona, Minn.; sophomore Rob Vanderloop, Kaukauna; junior Jessica Else, Rochester, Minn.; freshman Anna Figlesthaler, Fox Point; sophomore Heather Howard, North Branch, Minn.; freshman Jessica Lietzan, Appleton; senior Karlina Mahle, Plainview, Minn.; and community member Marty McNamee.
Joseph A. Nicikowski, a senior from Racine, is assistant director and stage manager, and senior Katherine Grosskopf, Fall Creek, is assistant stage manager. Jennifer Householder, a freshman from Galesville, is student assistant choreographer. Scenic and lighting design is provided by Bill Mellien, professor of theatre arts.
Tickets, available at the University Service Center, (715) 836-3727, are $9 for adults, $7 for seniors and children 17 and under, or $6 for faculty, staff and students with university ID.
