EAU CLAIRE
Students from 17 western Wisconsin high schools are registered to participate in the 18th annual regional Mathematics Meet Saturday, Feb. 12, with registration beginning at 8 a.m. in Hibbard Hall at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
Participants from 34 teams representing their schools will compete for team championships, as well as individual honors, by solving mathematics problems. The meet is hosted by the UW-Eau Claire mathematics department.
UW-Eau Claire scholarships, funded by a grant from Northern States Power, will be awarded to the top four individual winners in each of three divisions at the awards ceremony at 1:20 p.m. in Kjer Theater. First- and second-place teams and top individuals will receive trophies, and all student competitors will receive T-shirts.
In case of bad weather, an alternate date of Saturday, Feb. 26, has been set for the meet. -30- BW
