Area Employers to Recruit
Interns from UW-Eau Claire
MAILED: Dec. 15, 1999|
The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will offer area employers an opportunity to recruit student interns during Internship Mania 2000 Wednesday, Feb. 9. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Council Fire Room, Davies Center.
For the second consecutive year, Career Services and Student Organizations will sponsor the event that includes employer booths highlighting internship opportunities, resume and cover letter critiques, mock interviews and an employment attire show.
Internship Mania 2000 allows local employers to gain a competitive edge in recruiting interns and future permanent employees, to promote their businesses to UW-Eau Claire students and faculty and to develop a working relationship with the university community.
"Hiring interns is an important investment for all employers," Derek Solheim, career counselor, said. "The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire generates highly qualified students each year from many different disciplines to fill various positions."
Employers interested in purchasing booth space should contact Solheim, (715) 836-5358, by Jan. 10. The $30 registration fee includes a 6-foot table, parking and a lunch buffet for two recruiters. If more than two recruiters attend, there will be a $10 fee per person.
Employers interested in attending but who do not have the funding for such an event may apply for an employer scholarship. Contact Solheim for more information.
