Places at Four Tournaments

EAU CLAIRE
Members of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire forensics team competed in several tournaments recently, with students receiving top honors in each.
Five students traveled to the Ohio Swing Dec. 3-4. They placed fifth overall in the first half of the competition, which was held at Ohio State University (Columbus). Two students earned trophies in individual sweepstakes: junior Arwen Dale, Eau Claire, first place, and junior Jodi Becker, Germantown, third place. The second half of the tournament was held at Otterbein College (Westerville), where the women finished fourth.
Five other students traveled to the UW-Stout tournament the same weekend, where they finished second in team sweepstakes. Junior Reid Sollberger, Brooklyn Park, Minn., earned individual honors by placing first in individual sweepstakes.
On Tuesday, Dec. 7, the team competed in the Twin Cities Forensics League tournament at Normandale Community College in Bloomington, Minn. The students finished second overall. -30- HD/BW
