EAU CLAIRE
The Frances Jacobi Myers Scholarship Fund has been created at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, thanks to a $167,735 gift from the late Frances Jacobi Myers estate.
The scholarship monies will provide assistance to students in financial need who have completed their first year of studies and are in good academic standing.
"Frances Jacobi Myers was a very friendly alumna with several charitable interests," said Dr. Jerry Richards, director of special gifts for the UW-Eau Claire-Foundation. "She especially wished to be of assistance to worthy youth."
Myers graduated from UW-Eau Claire in 1926, when the university's campus consisted of just one building. Richards said she talked often about her pride in seeing the university grow during the decades since she was a student.
"UW-Eau Claire greatly appreciates the educational opportunities her gift will provide to talented students who are in financial need," Richards said.
