EAU CLAIRE
The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will celebrate the holiday season with a bus trip to a matinee performance of "A Christmas Carol" at the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis Saturday, Dec. 4.
Sir John Gielgud narrates the Guthrie's music-filled staging of Charles Dickens' classic. The stage is filled with the enduring charm of Victorian London, the sweetness of the impoverished Cratchit family, the ghost of Jacob Marley and the spirits of Christmas Past, Present and Future, and the wondrous conversion of Ebenezer Scrooge. This is the Guthrie's 25th anniversary production of the holiday classic.
The ticket price of $26 ($23 for UW-Eau Claire students) includes two-way coach transportation and reserved seating at the theater. The bus will leave Davies Center at 11 a.m. and return at approximately 5 p.m.
Tickets, available at the University Service Center, (715) 836-3727, also will be sold at the bus if any remain.
Patrons may charge tickets to MasterCard or Visa when they order by phone. Call (715) 836-3727 or, outside the immediate Eau Claire area, call toll-free (800) 949-UWEC. A $3 handling fee will be added to all telephone charge orders.
The trip is sponsored by the University Activities Commission of the UW-Eau Claire Student Senate. -30- JS/BW
