EAU CLAIRE
Bobby Llama, Planet Vinyl and special guest Mount Vernon will be featured at a concert and CD release party Friday, Nov. 12, at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
The show will begin at 8 p.m. in the Council Fire Room, Davies Center.
All three funk-pop-groove bands released new CDs this summer. Bobby Llama is a Minneapolis-based band featuring Ellis Bergeron on lead vocals. Planet Vinyl is an Eau Claire band recently featured on the "Jenny Jones" television talk show. Also based in Eau Claire, Mount Vernon combines Latin beats, African drumming, Motown soul, pure funk, folk and reggae into a sound it calls "move music."
Tickets are $7 ($5 with a UW-Eau Claire student ID card) at the University Service Center, (715) 836-3727, and will be sold at the door. The show is open to all ages; proof of age is required in the bar area.
The concert is sponsored by the University Activities Commission of the UW-Eau Claire Student Senate. -30- JS/JB
