EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire music and theatre arts department will present the following musical performances the week beginning Monday, Nov. 22. All events are free and open to the public.

  • Junior Monica K. Allen, Wausau, and senior Yuko Ikenaga, Japan, will perform a joint recital at 5 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. Ikenaga will begin the program on harpsichord and piano for Domenico Scarlatti's Sonatas for Harpsichord, Sonata in A major by W.A. Mozart and Frederic Chopin's "Grande Valse Brilliante." Allen will conclude the program on piano with Haydn's Fantasia in C major, Ballade in F major by Chopin and Vincent Persichetti's Third Piano Sonata.
  • Senior Julie Olson, Eau Claire, will present a recital in composition at 5 p.m. in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. Various students will assist to perform her seven-piece program including "Rebirth," featuring a Robert Browning poem, and "Miles to Go Before I Sleep," a Robert Frost poem.
