EAU CLAIRE
The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire music and theatre arts department will present the following musical performances the week beginning Monday, Nov. 8. All events are free and open to the public.
MONDAY, NOV. 8:
- Senior Karen Wridt, Racine, will perform a soprano recital at 7:30 p.m. in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. Junior Ondra Williams, Clinton, and senior Kevin Bartig, Wausau, will accompany Wridt on piano for a program including Giuseppe Verdi's "Ave Maria" from "Otello," "Ebbene Signor Figaro?" from Gioacchino Rossini's "The Barber of Seville" and Leonard Bernstein's "Glitter and Be Gay" from "Candide."
WEDNESDAY, NOV.10:
- Senior Chris Hahn, Rosemount, Minn., will perform a French horn recital at 5 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. Hahn will perform Mozart's Concerto No. 4 in E flat, Concerto in E flat by Richard Strauss and Vivaldi's Concerto in F for two horns for which sophomore Jennifer Johnson, Maribel, will assist on horn. ."
- The Wisconsin Woodwind Quintet will perform at 7:30 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall. The quintet consists of Dr. Tim Lane, associate professor of music, flute; Ivar Lunde Jr., professor of music, oboe; Dr. Kristine Fletcher, senior lecturer of music, bassoon; Dr. Richard Fletcher, professor of music, clarinet; and Andrew Parks, associate lecturer of music, horn. The group will perform Charles LeFabvre's Suite, Op. 57, "Jeux d'Enfants" by Georges Bizet and Anton Reicha's Quintet, Op. 91.
THURSDAY, NOV.11:
- Senior Monica Riess, Eau Claire, will perform a tuba recital at 5 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall. Freshman Julie Arnold, Moline, Ill., will accompany on piano for a program including Robert Muczynski's Impromptus for Solo Tuba and Ralph Vaughan Williams' Six Studies in English Folksong.
