EAU CLAIRE
The L.E. Phillips Family Foundation in Eau Claire recently made a $14,000 gift to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Foundation.
The gift will help support the L.E. Phillips Visiting Professor of Jewish Studies program in the university's department of philosophy and religious studies. Dr. Jonathan Paradise is the current visiting professor for that program.
The professorship program was established during the 1976-77 academic year by a gift from Mel and Eileen Cohen and Edith Phillips. The Holocaust and Judaism courses offered at UW-Eau Claire are the result of this professorship. Rabbi Louis Milgrom was the first program's first professor, a position he held until 1989.
