EAU CLAIRE
A recreation administrator with 14 years of university experience has been named director of University Recreation at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Thomas Patt, who formerly directed two sports centers on the UW-Madison campus, was appointed to the position following a national search for candidates. His appointment was effective Aug. 30.
Patt is responsible for directing and administering a comprehensive recreation program for the university community. He develops the annual budget and supervises the staff and various programs and activities of the Office of University Recreation. This includes intramurals; free-time recreation; the Outdoor Recreation Rental and Resource Center and trips program; Fitness Center; Bowling and Billiards Center; sports clubs; special events; aquatics and aerobics programs; faculty, staff and community service programs; and the ropes course. He will manage the Bollinger Field recreational and athletic complex and the award-winning National Youth Sports Program.
At UW-Madison Patt directed the Nielsen Tennis Stadium and the Camp Randall Sports Center. He also was a recreational sports specialist at the University of Texas at Austin. He holds a master's degree in sports management from The Ohio State University and a bachelor's degree in finance and marketing from UW-Madison.
