EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's L.E. Phillips Planetarium will present "Mr. Genius Tours the Solar System" on Thursdays this fall.
The presentation is a light-hearted introduction to astronomy aimed at elementary school children, although adults will learn quite a bit, too. It includes an overview of the current sky and is 30 to 40 minutes long.
The program is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. the following Thursdays: Sept. 23 and 30; Oct. 7, 14, 21 and 28; Nov. 4, 11 and 18; and Dec. 2 and 9.
An adult should accompany young children.
Tickets cost $1 and must be purchased in advance at the UW-Eau Claire Service Center, (715) 836-4745. No tickets will be sold at the planetarium door.
For more information about the planetarium or for information about group programs, contact planetarium director George Stecher at (715) 836-5731 or visit the planetarium Web site at www.phys.uwec.edu/planetarium.
