A three-part series of seminars aimed at providing information about the world of work in Wisconsin will be held this summer on the University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County campus. The Educational Opportunity Center, housed at UW-Eau Claire, will lead the free seminars.
The first seminar, titled "Your Thinking Style," will focus on how an individual's thinking style can be a guide to gainful employment. Participants will take the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator to assess how they see the world, and then they will learn which vocations use talents like the ones they possess. The program will be run from 5:30-7 p.m. June 29.
During the second seminar, titled "The Future In Your Past," participants will use the Self-Directed Search to see trends from their past that may lead toward productive work in the future. The program will be run from 5:30-7 p.m. July 6.
During the third seminar, titled "The Pay and Projections," EOC representatives will help participants answer reality-based questions about pay scales and career field stability. Participants will use Wisconsin Career Information Services SCAN to obtain employment statistics. The seminar will run from 5:30 to 7 p.m. July 13.
Interested community members can sign up for one or all of the seminars by contacting UW-Marshfield/Wood County at (715) 387-1147 or the EOC at (715) 836-2024. -30- EW/JB
