EAU CLAIRE — Andrew Ruggles, Marshfield, who will attend the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire this fall, has received a Blugold Fellowship for the 1999-00 academic year.

Blugold Fellowships are given annually to up to 20 incoming freshmen based on academic record, national test scores, an essay, and school and community leadership and service. The fellowship provides an opportunity to do research with or serve as an assistant to faculty. In addition, each recipient will receive a $500 scholarship and a $1,200 stipend. The funds, administered through the UW-Eau Claire Foundation, are renewable for a second year.

Ruggles will work on a project with professor of music and theatre arts Nancy Rice Baker.

Ruggles, a graduate of Marshfield High School, is the son of Peter Ruggles and Janice Devine-Ruggles.
