EAU CLAIRE
The University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire will celebrate Alumni Weekend May 14-15 with a variety of activities to welcome alumni of all ages back to campus.
Among the activities are "A Walk Down Memory Lane," a collection of photographs and memorabilia from the Class of 1949; a tour of campus; the University Theatre's production of "Hothouse"; and the annual meeting of the Alumni Association.
The honored guest for Alumni Weekend will be Charlie Bauer, UW-Eau Claire's vice chancellor of Business and Student Services, who will retire this summer after 34 years of service to the university. A retirement celebration in his honor is planned for Saturday evening. An exhibit titled "Celebrating a Life of Service" will commemorate Bauer's service to UW-Eau Claire.
Suzie Slota, director of Alumni Relations, said the weekend offers a chance for recognition, entertainment and personal interaction.
"It's a chance for alumni to reminisce with each other," she said.
Slota said the members of the class of 1949 will be welcomed into the Golden Blugold Club as they celebrate their 50th class reunion.
May 11 is the reservation deadline for the UW-Eau Claire Alumni Association's weekend of activities. For more information, call (715) 836-3266 or e-mail Alumni@uwec.edu. -30- AS/JB
