The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Women's Chorus will perform a spring concert at 7:30 p.m. May 3 in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.
Under the direction of Robert Mondlock, the University Women's Chorus will perform Buffy Sainte-Maire's "The Dream Tree," with oboe soloist Ivar Lunde, professor of music. Freshman Kelly Prusak, Duluth, Minn., will have a flute solo in "Sourwood Mountain," a Southern folk Song. The chorus will perform a song titled "Ride the Chariot," with vocal soloist freshman Christina Bock, Sheboygan.
Other artists to be featured on the program are J.S. Bach, Giovanni Battista Pergolesi, F.S. Pierpoint, George Herbert and Ralph Vaughan Williams. Freshman Beth McDowell, Bloomington, Minn., will accompany the chorus.
The Eau Claire Women's Chorus, directed by Peggy Schroetter, will join the university chorus for two songs on the program: Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Love Changes Everything" and "You Are the New Day" by John David.
Tickets, available at the University Service Center, (715) 836-3727, are $3.75 for the public, $2.75 for seniors and children under 18, or free for faculty, staff and students with university ID.
