EAU CLAIRE
If you're in the mood to put on your dancing shoes, the Two to Tango social dance club might be just the thing for you. Open to University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire students, faculty, staff and local community members, Two to Tango meets 6:30 to 8:30 every Sunday night in the McPhee Dance Studio.
Teresa Heinrich formed the club in 1993, with 15 people meeting in the basement of Katharine Thomas Hall. Since then, Two to Tango has danced its way to a current participation of more than 400 people. The club provides participants with instruction and practice in various social dances including swing, cha-cha, mambo, polka and waltz. And, of course, in the tango.
The dance club also gives instruction and demonstration at university and community functions, such as the recent UW-Eau Claire Wellness Fair. Two to Tango organizes trips to area dances in the Twin Cities, Madison, Green Bay and Menomonie and sponsors a free dance of its own, open to the public, each semester. Each spring, the club gears its dance instruction toward the Viennese Ball.
For additional information on Two to Tango, call club president Steve Reinke at (715) 836-3559.
