Ranks High In National Tournament

EAU CLAIRE
The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Forensics team took 13th place at the American Forensics Association National Tournament in Tuscaloosa, Ala., the weekend of April 2-4.
UW-Eau Claire students who make the quarterfinals the top 24 participants of about 115 were senior Leah Hooker, Coon Rapids, Minn., communication analysis; senior Kate Grosskopf, Fall Creek, communication analysis; senior Melanie Miller, Anoka, Minn., poetry interpretation and program oral interpretation; and sophomore Jodi Becker, Germantown, persuasion.
Miller also earned second place in after-dinner speaking, and she earned an individual sweepstakes as the 11th speaker in the nation.
The Forensics team will next compete in the National Forensics Association National Tournament in Yspilanti, Mich.
