EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire music and theatre arts department will present the following musical performances the week beginning Monday, April 12. All events are free and open to the public.
    MONDAY, APRIL 12:
  • The University Brass Choir will perform under the direction of Rodney Hudson at 7:30 p.m. in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. The Brass Choir will perform works by Richard Wagner, Hoagy Carmichael and Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov.
    TUESDAY, APRIL 13:
  • Karen Melby, Richland Center, will perform a senior recital on clarinet at 5 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. Michael Johannes, Fond du Lac, will accompany on piano and Ryan Poquette, Madison, will assist on violin.
    WEDNESDAY, APRIL 14:
  • The student organization AMTAS will perform at 5 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.
    THURSDAY, APRIL 15:
  • The Voice Division recital will begin at 5 p.m. in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. Students who will participate in the program, titled "A, An, Auf, To" (A Collection of Songs), are: Jason Sunde, Amery; Heather Howard, North Branch, Minn.; Jeff Madison, Woodbury, Minn.; Lisa Butcher, Woodbury, Minn.; Sara Paar, Verona; Koral Curkeet, Eau Claire; Justus Smith, Racine; Jason Melik, Racine; Karlina Mahle, Plainview, Minn.; Erin Curran, Green Bay; and Emily Johnson, Chaseburg.
    SUNDAY, APRIL 18:
  • Les Favorites, a period instrument ensemble specializing in the music of the middle and late baroque, will perform at 4 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. Performers will include Laura Handler, baroque violoncello; Tim Lane, baroque flute; Ivar Lunde, baroque oboe; Nanette Lunde, organ; and Lucinda Marvin, baroque violin. Kathryn Proctor Duax will assist as a mezzo soprano. Among the works the ensemble will perform are "Arias for Mezzo Soprano," "Oboe Obbligato" and "Basso Continuo" by J.S. Bach.
