Halberg Appointed to Special Assistant Post

EAU CLAIRE
Carole Swan Halberg has been named special assistant to the chancellor. Chancellor Donald Mash appointed Halberg following an internal search for candidates.
As special assistant Halberg provides advice and counsel to the chancellor and his staff and oversees the organization and distribution of the workload in the Chancellor's Office. She works with internal and external constituencies to solve problems, interpret policies, provide information and represent the Chancellor's Office. She develops and drafts reports, papers, policy statements and correspondence for the chancellor and coordinates the chancellor's involvement in advancement activities, serving as a liaison with the University Advancement Office and News Bureau.
A member of UW-Eau Claire's academic staff since 1981, Halberg most recently held a split appointment as acting president of the UW-Eau Claire Foundation and interim special assistant to the Chancellor. She also was acting director of development in 1995-96. She served as director of Alumni Relations from 1984-92, taking on the additional role of director of major gifts in 1992, and was administrative assistant to Chancellor Emily Hannah from 1982-84.
